| | The first MHJCA Japanese SADOH (The Way of Tea) workshop was held at 1pm,
for two hours, on Saturday, April 13.
The event was attended by four members, and one guest.
The proceedings commenced with a full serving of OUSU (thing green tea), paired with Japanese sweets (OMOGASHI, HIGASHI, etc.).
Participants were instructed on how to properly serve the tea - including folding CHAKIN and using FUKUSA in the purifying of utensils.
All attending were given the opportunity to make their own teas, created with a vigorous mix of MACHA Powder with a CHASEN (thin bamboo wisk).
Tasty tea was enjoyed by all.
The quiet 'way of tea', in contrast with today's fast paced life, was appreciated by all.
The next workshop will be held on Saturday, June 15.
See you then. | | ４月１３日(土)、午後１時ー３時まで茶道クラスが行われました。
お茶に親しもうと企画されたワークショップには、４人のメンバーと
１人の見学者が参加されました。
みなさん、茶道は初めてでしたので、まずは雰囲気を知ってもらおうと
お菓子と薄茶が供されました。
その後、茶巾のたたみ方，袱紗の扱い等を練習し、最後には
テーブルでそれぞれが薄茶を点てて味わいました。
忙しい現実から一時離れての茶道は、なかなか良いものだとの
感想でした。
次回は６月１５日(土）を予定してます。
